My deepest sympathies to Janet and all of Jim,s Family . My apologies for not staying in touch over the years. I have written a few words about Uncle Jim in my blog and would like to share them here ..

It was a very sad day this week when I received a message from my Mom telling my that my fishing inspiration, Uncle Jim had passed away in hospital .

As I sat there thinking of what to say to my Aunt Janet who was by his side , I became totally overwhelmed with all the wonderful reasons why I called Jim Adams my uncle. Jim was a wonderful caring and giving man who always thought of everyone else before himself .

My family and I first met Jim not long after we moved to Canada when he was visiting our neighbors one summer afternoon . I don't remember how we got on the subject of fishing but once we did that remained the favorite topic for Jim , my Dad and I for years to come .. Having fished in England for smaller coarse fish I was totally taken in by Jim's stories of huge Pike and Bass which could he explained could be caught easily casting wooden plugs..

Some of my favorite memories were sitting in a 3 meter aluminium boat with my Dad and Jim making our way down the Salmon river near Belleville casting Rapalas under over hanging trees for whatever we could catch . I still dont know how we fit so much tackle and junk into the boat and still had room for the 3 of us.. We had some great fishing and some great laughs ..

Jim had nicknamed me "Big Ace " during a fishing trip to Temagami Northern Ontario . I was dealing cards and simply said "big ace bets" .For some reason Jim thought it was the funniest thing he had ever heard. He was literally crying laughing for 30 minutes . He had such a great laugh which we will all miss.

I have written about Jim here on my blog as he , like my Dad were a true inspiration for me in many different areas of my life but especially when it comes to fishing ...I remember we would often drop into the local tackle shop on our way to our fishing spots and Jim would try to convince the owner that he should let us take his new Ranger bass boat out for a spin ... Even though Jim was a great salesman that unfortunately never happened . I told Jim not too worry as I would buy my own bass boat some day ..

Jim helped me with my goal of owning my own boat by getting me my first real job at a local moving company doing office moves on weekends .. This lead to me eventually getting summer jobs and working every night after school at the mover's warehouse.. My strong work ethic and good references from the job Jim had got for me helped me land an apprenticeship in tool and die making which has served me well to this day

With the money I earner in those early days I was able to finally buy my bass boat .. Once i had that I never looked back and have been fishing like a mad man ever since :).

I would like to thank you Uncle Jim for your help and inspiration and hope that I can help and inspire some young anglers here at Exotic Fishing Thailand so they too can enjoy some great times fishing with their families and friends like I did with you and Dad..

The team here at Steer Inc. are deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing.  Jim was not just a client, he was a friend.  Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

I lost not only my daddy but my best friend. My daddy was a special person in my life that has guided and supported me throughout my entire life and provided me with reassurance during my darkest of times that things will be okay and I will get through it somehow. He was not only my support system but enriched my life with his teachings, advice, jokes and laughter. I learned from him that one person really can make a difference and even the littlest things in life can make a difference to a person or animal. I wish my son would have been able to meet my dad and see first hand what a caring and loving person he was and experience how terrified you get when someone jumps out from behind things wearing a scary halloween mask. It's hard to say goodbye because myself and many others loved him so much but I know that he wouldn't want people to be sad he would want his jokes, tricks and kind hearted actions to be past on and remembered always. People always say don't focus on the fact that the person has died but be happy that they lived and my dad definitely lived. After his funeral and hearing stories about my dad showed how he touched and brought joy to so many lives which shows how much he really did live. I love you daddy and always will. Thank you for the honor of being your daughter and friend.

My deepest sympathies go out to the Adams family.  I've known Jim and family for 10 years now, and I will always remember Jim's ability to captivate everyone in the room with his storytelling abilities, and his ability to make himself laugh so hard he literally had to sit down to catch his breath.  

It was an honor and a privilege to have known Jim, and I will carry forever in my heart the stories and jokes he liked so much to tell.

My deepest sympathies to Jim's family, please draw comfort from James 4:8 which shows if you draw close to God He will draw close to you. Veronica

So sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. One of my earliest memories is attempting to shoot a real bow and arrow with Uncle Jim, cousin Jimmy and others at our house in Seymour, IN. I was way too young, but I remember how much fun everyone was having. Thoughts and prayers for all his family and friends.

I'm saddened to hear of  my cousin Jimmy's passing.  He was always so lively and funny.   He will be missed.  My condolences to all his family and friends.

Jim, all I have are great memories of you. Funny you say! to the point of having stomach cramps. :)  Thank you for all the good times Jim!

Uncle Jim always had a funny story or joke to share when we got together.  He made our family gatherings fun and memorable.  My heart breaks thinking of our future family celebrations without him.  He will remain in our hearts and memories forever.  Thanks Uncle Jim for all the happy memories and endless hours of laughter.  I will keep Aunt Janet, Jason , Jenna and all those who loved Uncle Jim in my thoughts and prayers.

Jim was truly one of the nicest people that I have ever worked for. It was a pleasure to work for him and a treasure to know him. He will surely be missed by all.

Uncle Jim will always hold a dear place in my heart and soul; the many fun memories and stories we shared that always bring a smile to face.  I looked up to him and always had great conversations about life; Family; and the perfect pitch to a Funny story or joke.   He loved to make people laugh and smile and enjoyed to hear a good joke.  My memories of holidays are filled with Jim and Family; playing cards; December 24th x-mas shopping; fishing trips/monsters and the occasional pat on the back from him with some kind of remark made in his W.C. Fields Voice.   I will miss Jim … he was not only an uncle; but he was my friend!

I worked with Jim at North American Van Lines from the late 1970's to the late 1980's and am so sorry to hear of his passing. I think the things I remember the most about him was his sunny disposition, his optimistic attitude and his irrepressible sense of humour. Every day was made better by an encounter with Jim.  My sincere condolences to his family.

Jim was a fantastic guy and one of my favorite customers.  I am very saddened to hear of his passing.  He will definitely be missed.

Grief can be so hard during the holidays, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one this holiday season.

The very first time I met Jim in 1970, he made me laugh. The very last time I spoke with Jim, he still made me laugh!
Jim and I quickly became good friends, like brothers. Whether we were at a New Year's Eve party with our wives, fishing, scouting, camping, attending karate classes, playing cards, motoring in his Volkswagen hatchback, or babysitting Colin, we always lived life with lots of humour and purpose.
Over the years, we became separated by miles, kilometres and eventually countries. Our visits and conversations, though less frequent, were as animated as ever. Sometimes we couldn't remember how long it had been since our last laugh but it always seemed like only yesterday. I would smile and chuckle for days after a conversation with Jim. That warm and fuzzy feeling was Jim's gift to me as I am sure to many others. Jim will always be present as he lives on in my heart and in my memories.
Jim was a caring man, great husband, great father and a great friend whom I loved. Let me express my deepest sympathy to his loving wife Janet, Jason, Jenna and family.

After working on a daily basis with Jim over the last 7 years it feels as if I have lost a dear friend even though he was my boss. His pranks and jokes will be greatly missed. My sympathies go to his family.

Jim's was one of the nicest people I have ever had the privilege to work with. He was always optimistic and eager to help with any project we threw his way. My deepest condolences to his family.

Uncle Jim will ALWAYS be in our hearts. Spending time on Christmas Eve's past are some of my fondest memories. He always brought laughter and smiles. We will miss him greatly. Words truly cannot express the level of saddness we feel. We send our love and prayers to you all.

You Will truly be miss by all We Love you Jim and Thanks for always being Jim.

Jim's humanitarian character and witty story-telling of his personal experiences enriched my personal and working life.   In return for his kindness, he expected little in return beyond honesty. I shall always be grateful to have known and worked for and with Jim.  He helped me through a very difficult illness and allowed me to continue 'working', though many days I could only sit across from him at his desk and cry or yell at him. He understood with reassurance to me and my co-workers. My sincere condolences to his family members whom Jim loved so deeply.  Jim, you will be greatly missed as you continue on in Spirit.
