Henry A “Ronnie” Lassiter, Jr. of Apex passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2012. After a battle with a rare cancer which he bravely fought with his strong will, incredible courage and amazing spirit, now he is with God. He shared with his family love, strength and perseverance.
Henry was born at Camp Lejeune on May 5, 1945 and later served in the USMC. After attending NCSU he worked 33 years with BellSouth. When he retired he spent his time enjoining his friends and his hobbies. He walked his two Airedales, restored his ’67 corvette, belonged to a gun club, a cowboy action group, a classic car group, and a train club. Henry was a very active man who enjoyed riding his motorcycles and mountain bike. He was always busy with a project. But, mostly Henry was a good husband and dad who will leave his family with many happy memories.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry “Hank” and Ruth Lassiter and son, Renfrow.
His loved ones who will celebrate his life are his wife, Barbara Ann Lassiter, sons: Steve Lassiter and Scott Lassiter, both of Apex; uncle and aunt, William and Helen Younger of Wilmington; mother-in-law, Ernestine Lambert and brother-in-law, Phillip Lambert both of Raleigh and many other relatives and friends who shared his life.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 9, 2012 in the Chapel of Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. Apex, NC 27502. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh.
The family wishes to express a “Thank You” to Premier Surgical, especially Dr. David Pilati; Heartland Hospice, especially Kristi and Sandra, along with the nurses at Wake Med Cary.
