Helen Irene Riddle

Helen Irene Riddle, 74, was born on April 4, 1943 in Marion, N.C. She went to be with Jesus on June 28, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Thelma Gurley. She was also preceded in death by brothers Howard, John Jr., Roy, and James, as well as her best friend and sister-in-law Fanny Riddle.

Helen was a pre-school teacher at SAS. She retired in 2003.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Wayne Riddle of Apex; children Michael (Robin) Riddle of Apex, Karen Riddle of Fuquay Varina, and James (Beth) Riddle of Wake Forest; grand-children, Britnee, Brandee, Brandon, and Kameron; and great-grand-daughters, Rylee and Macie. She is also survived by her brother Bobby (Joyce) Gurley of Marion, NC.

A celebration of life will be held at Apex Baptist Church on Saturday July 1, 2017. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm and the service will be at 2:00 pm. The private burial will be in Spruce Pine, N.C. the next day.
