Gabriella, everytime we have gotten together I've always told you that out of all of the cousins we have you are my favorite. You have always held a very special place In my heart. I didn't see you nearly as much as I would have liked living so far apart but I made sure to make the most out of our time together. You were the happiest girl I knew and your beautiful and infectious smile could light up any room. I still remember the first Steeler game in 2006 when we all came out to California. You were so little yet always smiling and so happy jumping up and down on your trampoline. One of my favorite memories will be one of the last time we were in Johnstown at your grandma's. When I got to her house with some wings everyone else already went out which was fine with me, that it was just the 3of us.  I shared my wings with you and your grandma opened a beer poured half in a glass and gave it to you. You were no more than 14. You just looked at me and we both laughed  She had obviously mistaken you for Valencia, and how could anyone blame her, you were 2 peas in a pod and both so beautiful. I glad I was able to share that drink with you (even though you didn't drink it).  That moment had been a running inside joke between us ever since.  I will never forget my beautiful superstar soccer cousin. You will always be my favorite, I know someday we will see each other again. Until then know just how very much I love and miss you Gabriella

As your uncle and Godfather, we fortunately got to spend a lot of time together during the holidays, family get-togethers, vacations and at each other's houses.  Our last vacation in Ocean City, NJ, in the summer of 2020, was a great time together.  Getting to sit out on the balcony on a great summer night, hanging out with you, will be a lasting memory for me.  You and I got a chance to talk like we never really had a chance to before.

I always knew you were a beautiful girl with a beautiful smile, but every photo I've seen of you recently confirms both of those things.  You looked so happy in every one of them.  

I am heartbroken.  I'm sad.  I've cried almost every day the last 2 weeks because this doesn't seem possible at such a young age.  You will ALWAYS be with me in memory.

As I’m sitting here trying to think of the words to say I can’t help but think of the last memories that I never thought would be our lasts. Our 2am Jack-in-the-box Taco runs, the arguments of you stealing my clothes, me sideline screaming “That’s my sister” at your soccer games just to embarrass you, us sneaking around to do stupid stuff that we wouldn’t want Mom and Dad to know about (Sorry Mom and Dad). All of these little things that were just so normal for us, things I took for granted, things I never thought would come to an end. Just when I think my minds run out of its constant cycle of memories that keep replaying in my head, another one comes up. You were more than a Sister to me, you are my Best Friend and nothing will ever change that. There’s nobody in the world that knows more about the two of us. We have a bond that is unbreakable. I don’t know how I’m going to live in a world without you in it, but I know that I’ll never let your Memory fade. I can only hope that one day my girls will have as strong of a bond as you and I had Gabriella. Wherever you are out there, please stay with us, please watch over us, because I don’t want you to miss a thing. I love you to the Moon and Back Gabriella, and can’t wait till the day I can see you again.

I don’t even know where to start Gabi, From seeing you at the furniture store when you first moved here to North Carolina to us all going to high school together and clicking so fast, if Gabi were there you were brightening the room with that big old smile, and there are so many unforgettable moments and laughs that I wish I could just go back to. I used to love that nickname you used to called me yaqoubi scooby, and I can’t believe I won’t be able to hear that from you again. My deepest sympathies for your family, they’re a mess and so are all of the people that cared about you, if only you knew how many people did. I’m so sorry that you are not here with us today, but god has a plan for all of us and I’m so sad you are gone but I hope you are in a better place now. Dear Pete, Lynn and girls. Oh my goodness! What can I say to comfort you at this sad, sad time! Perhaps I can bring a smile to your faces with my favorite memory of sweet Gabriella. Remember how she and I used to throw kisses back and forth to each other when she was just a toddler? I would throw one to her and she would throw it back to me and I would pretend it hit me on the cheek and catch it by slapping my cheek. We all loved that little girl. My name is Taryn McClendon. I was Gabi’s soccer coach at Great Oak her freshman and sophomore years. I absolutely LOVED having her on my team and her family at the games supporting! From her dad (big guy Steelers fan like me)  to her mom (sweetest woman such a big support). I actually made her captain her sophomore year because of how much I entrusted her and how much faith I had in her to lead our team.  

Gabi and I had a special bond because of how similar we are. She was my buddy. And out of all the players I’ve had over the years she would always be one that I would remember vividly because of our bond!! I always look forward to catching up with Gabi, whether it be a hardship or a huge success, but she could always lean on me. And I will miss that deeply. 

Gabi is a beautiful young girl. I will take our memories and pass them along to my future players with a new perspective and meaning! 

Gabi, words cannot describe how much you mean to me. The fact that I will never get to see you smile or hear that laugh again is beyond me. You were such a light in my life and I’m so thankful for all our memories on and off the field<3 I’m so proud of the person you became and I’m so sorry you won’t get to experience more of what life was going to offer you but just know you’ll always be in my heart and I will forever be thinking of you. Gabi had such an energetic loving soul. She always knew how to make me and so many others laugh and smile and it was so comforting to know I had a friend off and on the soccer field. She impacted my life so positively and was one of the first people to make me feel at home when I moved to California. She left an amazing imprint on so many lives. I know I would not be who I am today without her. Rest easy beautiful girl, I love you❤️

When I first heard the news I thought it had to be some sort of misunderstanding, you helped me get back with my ex and Helped me through all my personal issues and  I’ll never forget that, we have so many memories together, all of our late night drives, sleepovers, and shopping runs, I just can’t believe this is real, we had our ups and downs but at the end of the day whenever I really needed you, you were there for me, anytime I was sad you would always be there to cheer me up, I’m sorry for all the times we argued and I’m sorry for not talking to you as much as I should have, i just wish I had enough time to say bye, I hope your having a good life up there, you are gone way to soon and I can’t believe this is the end of our memories forever, thank you for everything Gabi I love you ❤️

When i first heard the news i was in such shock I didn’t know what to feel or what to say:(. I dated her and i honestly thought we were going to be together for years she was not only my love at one point but she was always there for me no matter what she brought me so much happiness i couldn’t describe the feeling she had such a powerful impact on my life and many others. The way I feeling knowing your not here is horrible and makes me sad everyday.
