Doris Hart Lawrence

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother Doris Hart Lawrence passed away on March 28, 2025. She was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on August 6, 1943, to the late John Furman Jeffreys and Frances Collins Jeffreys, longtime residents of Morehead City.

Raised in Raleigh, Doris lived most of her adult life in Apex working as a nurse for UNC Rex Hospital until she retired in 2008. Together with her husband and soulmate, Larry, Doris enjoyed life's simple pleasures. Always a nurse and caregiver at heart, she was always concerned about the well-being of her children and their families. She especially loved music and spent many hours writing songs and poetry and playing piano.

Doris was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Betsy Jeffreys Tripp. Left behind to treasure her memory are her loving family: husband Larry Lawrence; sons Greg (Rene) and Michael (Kimba); daughter Tracy (Nicole); and grandchildren Christopher, Josh, Danny, Sally, and Raelan. She is also survived by her sister, Jackie Jeffreys Estes (Bill), nieces Bonnie and Barbara, and nephew James B. Tripp.

A visitation for Doris will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams Street, Apex, North Carolina 27502. Following the visitation will be a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
