Donna was born November 7, 1942 in Baldwinsville, New York to Wilber and Elizabeth Mae Peters. She grew up in Baldwinsville and graduated from Hannibal Central School District. She attended nursing school before marrying Russell Gary Williamson on June 17, 1961. Donna and Russell lived in Michigan while he was in the Air Force and then returned to New York.
They lived, worked, and raised their children in Fulton and then in Brewster, New York until 1998 when they moved to Rockwell, North Carolina.
Donna is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Wilber R. Peters. She’s survived by her husband Russell, son Scott Williamson and his wife Laurie, daughter Tammy Moldovan and her husband Mark, and daughter Colleen Hoetjes and her husband Paul. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Donna was well-known for her world-class knitting and crocheting skills. One of her favorite things to do was knit a layette set for new babies. An avid bowler all her life, Donna spent years bowling on various leagues and made lifelong friends. She also traveled with her daughter to book conferences and was known as Mama Donna.
There will be a private service for family and friends at Apex Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in Donna’s memory.
