Derrick was born March 21, 1986 in Jefferson, Iowa. He was a graduate of Apex High and was currently finishing his bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security. Derrick was a devoted and loving father to his children, Avery and Connor. He was loved by many, and his family meant the world to him. Derrick will be remembered for his contagious laugh, his love of animals and his taste for hot sauce just to name a few.
Derrick was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Duane Tasler and Uncle, Ric Spangler.
He is survived by his parents, Teri and Richard Tasler; his children, Avery and Connor Tasler, Fiancé, Jennifer Stephens; sisters, Ashli Clayton (Matt), Emili Tasler (Ray); Grandparents, Dee Tasler, Jeanne and Dean Spangler, Nieces and Nephews, Kody, Holland and Hayden Clayton, Kaden and Aaliyah Brown; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 3pm Monday, September 27, 2021 at the Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502.
