Deena Lynn (Budd) Haws - Born November 5, 1964 in Ridgewood, New Jersey passed away on June 14, 2019
Beloved wife of Frederick G. Haws and a loving mother of her "Varsity Cross Country" runner, Wesley Cole Haws, for Cardinal Gibbons High School.
Deena is a native of Ridgewood, Oak Ridge and Freehold, NJ; with 3 surviving sisters, Dawn (Budd) Abramovitz ; Deborah (Budd) Van Horn; and Donna Budd. Her parents, Dale and Lilly Budd now reside in NC.
Deena's artistic career started at an early age in dance winning full scholarships with "Irine Fokine's Russian Ballet", later extending to the "NY City Joffrey Ballet", and The New York City Ballet's "School of American Ballet" in Lincoln Center; setting a long-lived career in the world of ballet. Competitions drove her desire with dedication to becoming Principle Dancer in her tours of delight across the United States with Todd Bolender, a former New York City Ballet protégé of George Balanchine in the Kansas City Center. Deena later became Artistic Director/Administrator in several Performing Art Centers.
Deena was known in the ballet world for her light and springy jumps, her precise and quick footwork, as well as her beautiful fast turns. Her many leading roles were in Nutcracker, Serenade, Grand Tarantella, Valse Fantaisie, Concerto Barocco, and Con Amore. She had beauty on stage as well as comedic acting, which made her a favorite for ballet audiences.
Deena received a BA degree with highest honors from Kennesaw State University. She and her husband currently run and own the family business, HAWS USA located in Apex, NC.
Memorial Service: All invited - to be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 625 Magdala Pl. Apex NC 27502: Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 6-7pm. A celebrated Mass follows at 7-8pm.
Interment: privately arranged for family at a future time.
