My husband and I met David singing Karaoke in Apex many moons ago, We hit it off due to our shared love for the Grateful Dead and other artist. Although we hadn't gotten together enough when we did it was a great time. David ALWAYS SMILIN.

I will miss you, David!  We stayed at home together with our children for 7 years.  He was such a great sport, living in a woman's world all day.  He would go to the park with us, sit on the porch with us and chat.  He would even share recipes.  He amazed me because being a stay-at-home dad was not an easy job.  He took care of the children, the house, the yard....

He was always there to help.  When I divorced, he would bring me deserts, and he would check on me..making sure I was ok.  He helped me with things around the house...

I can close my eyes and see him smiling, driving around in his BMW covertible...

What a gentle, giving soul.

My thoughts and prayers are with the DeSantis family during this very sad time.

So saddened to hear of david's passing.  As so many have said, his smile was infectuous and he always was the 1st to plan something for the kids or to help you out.  His memory will bring a smile to many and we will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

I am truly saddened to hear of his passing. As the first neighbor I met when I moved in across the street, Dave welcomed my family and I with a friendly and open heart. We developed an easy going neighborly friendship and he was always willing to share an egg or can of tomatoes. We had many talks over the last 8 years and shared some laughs. Beth, Madeline and Michael, if there is anything we can do, know that we are right next door and will be happy and honored to help. We were unaware of the arrangements and sadly did not attend the funeral.
Dave was a good man and I will miss him and his unique sense of humor. Saying prayers for him and all who are mourning his passing.

We have been blessed to have had Dave as our friend for so many years.  His passion for life, his family, and his friends was truly a gift to all of us.  He will be so dearly missed by all those that he touched.  Our prayers to his family.

I will miss my brother so much. I can only hope that my new baby girl, who came into this world just four days before David left us, has some of his kind and giving spirit in her.

Please know that I deeply share in your sadness as I have greatly appreciated David as a friend.  My prayers are with you all.  I recall well our conversations over the last ten years on all sorts of matters and I will miss him as a friend.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Know that Kristina, Nicholas, and Tanya Rupp will keep your family in our prayers.  He had a smile that was always contagious -- if I was having a bad day, I'd look over the fence and his smile would brighten my day!

Thank you to everyone for these thoughtful notes and to all of you who were able to attend yesterday's funeral.   As his brother, I am so touched by the outpouring of your support for Beth, David's kids, my parents, my sister and me, and all of the DeSantis family.  David truly touched so many lives with his good natured personality, his genuine joy in helping others and the example he set of being a good husband, father and friend.  We will miss him dearly.

My heart goes out to you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dave will be missed.....as a friend from high school (Troy), I can only remember how original, kind and fun loving he was to everyone and of course his smile! My thoughts go out to his family during this difficult time.

This is such a loss. David and I were in many classes together growing up. I loved his warm smile and sense of humor. He always seemed to brighten the room and the people around him. I have had the pleasure of knowing many fine people in my 42 years on this earth but I have never met anyone with as big a heart as Dave.  He was a gentle soul who took great pleasure in doing for others - a rare quality in this day and age.  I honestly can't remember a time when Dave didn't have a smile on his face or failed to put a smile on mine.  He will be deeply missed.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I knew David through work and he was always fun to be around.  He had a smile on his face and was always willing to help out.  He loved his kids and his family deeply.  I know he will be missed by everyone who knew him.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family and friends.

I'm so sorry to hear of this unexpected loss.  I know he will be missed as a Father, Son, Husband, Uncle & Brother.  I remember growing up with David back in Troy, Ohio.  His older brother Dan (Danny to me) was my age and friend, but David was always somewhere in the mix no matter what we were doing.  I hope that as a family, you are able to comfort each other as you endure this loss.
