Cynthia Ray Swamp

Cindy was born in Alamance County, NC on December 3rd, 1960. She graduated from Cummings High School in Burlington, NC and continued to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Elon College.

Cindy was married to Steve Swamp on August 25, 1990. They were happily married for more than 33 years.

Early in her career, Cindy worked in Marketing for both SAS Institute and Nortel Networks. Despite being disabled, later in life she built a small vacation rental property business. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, cooking, decorating, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She was also actively involved in her bible fellowship at House of Israel in Charlotte, NC.

Cindy was passionate about her love for her husband, family, friends and caring about others. She had a radiant smile, a never-failing sense of humor and ever optimistic attitude. Cindy loved everyone and was always more concerned for them than she was herself. She was guided through life by her strong faith.

Cindy is survived by husband Steve, of Apex, brother Billy Ray of Marietta, GA; sister in laws Julie Townsend (John) Myrtle Beach SC and Vicki Nadzam (Dave) Mentor OH; brother-in-law Michael Swamp (Kara) Huntsville AL; 12 nieces and nephews and other great nieces and great nephews as well aunts, uncles and close friends whom she dearly loved.

Cindy is preceded in death by her father Billy V. Ray, Sr, mother Mary-Lou Ray, and sister Sandra.

An event to celebrate and honor Cindy’s life will be held on April 14, 2024, at Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church, 3505 Chestnut Ridge Church Road, Efland, NC from 2-4PM. All friends are welcome.
