Charles William Hilliard, 81, of Apex, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Saturday January 12, 2013 at 7 p.m. He was a loving husband and father. Charles will be remembered for his beautiful craftsmanship as a carpenter and a great provider. Charles had a great desire to read the Bible and he loved the Lord. Jesus Christ was his personal Saviour. This was the sustaining power in his life. He taught his family to believe in God.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mathie Lee Jacobs Hilliard; daughters: Janice Jones and Ronnie of New Hill, North Carolina, Teri Hamann and Ricky of Stokesdale, North Carolina, and Lynn Rainey of Selma, North Carolina; son: Ken Hilliard of Cary, North Carolina; his grandchildren: Amy Coats and Mark of Elprogresso ,Honduras, Cindy William and Johnny of Clayton North Carolina, Christopher Haman and Keri of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, Brandon Jones and Amanda of Clayton, North Carolina, Stephanie Philips and Dale of Walkertown, North Carolina, Brittany Whitaker and Derrek of Sanford, North Carolina, and Zac Corbett of Selma, North Carolina. He is also survived by his 16 great grandchildren; sisters: Charlotte Hilliard Ward of Apex, North Carolina, and Betty Hilliard Baker of Fuquay, North Carolina; and his nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. Apex, NC. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Apex Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow in Apex Cemetery. Officiating the service: Pastor Ricky Hamann of Northwest Baptist Church Greensboro, NC and Pastor Nate Ange of Land Mark Baptist Church Cary, NC.
At all other times, the family will be receiving friends and family at the home of Janice Jones.
