Brandon was born December 8, 1987 in Hilton Head, SC and was raised in Cary, NC. He attended Green Hope High School, Cape Fear Community College and Wake Technical Community College. He tried many jobs and excelled the most as a salesperson. He was so charming and articulate, caring and loving. Unfortunately, these qualities were often hidden by the drug addiction Brandon tried to endure.
Brandon suffered a great loss when his mother, Catherine Barker Gray, passed unexpectedly when he was 19 years old. The pain from that experience contributed to his struggle for many years with drug addiction. This addiction affected his ability to get a job, find housing and overall created a cycle of despair for him. But it never diminished the love Brandon had for his family, especially his father who tried so many things to help, from rehab to tough love to unwavering support. It is with great sadness the family knows Brandon lost in this lethal game of chance.
He is survived by his loving father, Allan Gray and wife, Lynn Thomas; loyal and steadfast brother, Baylor Gray and wife, Allison Dremann; uncle Coby Gray and wife Angela, cousins Alex and Matthew. Brandon leaves many friends who claim the positive influences he had in his sober days on their lives. The family deeply hopes this drug epidemic will not affect any more of Brandon’s friends.
If Brandon were to choose, he would ask memorials be made to any charity that helps those struggling with a dependence on drugs.
