Betty Hollingsworth Branson

Betty was born February 20, 1935 in Richmond County, NC to the late Wade Hollingsworth and Edith Moore Hollingsworth. She was a graduate of Ellerbe High School, Rex School of Nursing and Wake Technical Community College, where she was certified as a registered nurse. Betty was an active member of Westwood Baptist Church and served as a medical hostess for the NC Baptist Men Dental Ministry. She had a servant's heart and was a compassionate caregiver who used her vacation to travel the world to share her faith and heal the less fortunate. She never spoke unkindly of anyone. Her selfless giving to others, her intelligence and integrity will all be missed. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her son, Alan Douglas Branson.

Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bobby Winston Branson; son, Michael Branson and wife, Patti; daughter, Debra Willits; grandchildren, Stephen Branson and wife Emily, Stefanie Branson, Adam Willits and Matt Willits; and great grandson, Jackson Branson.

A Funeral Service will be held 2pm Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Westwood Baptist Church, 200 Westhigh Street, Cary, NC 27513. Burial will follow the service at Apex Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1-2pm prior to the service at the church.
