Energetic, creative, faithful, compassionate and talented are just a few of the many adjectives that fittingly describe Amanda Lee Nash, who suddenly passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 at the age of 27 in her Ellenboro, NC home.
Amanda is survived by her parents, Jeff and Lori Nash, her sister, Casey Nash, and many grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Amanda is also survived by her beloved fiancé, Grant Hill of Ellenboro, and countless friends she made at the schools she attended (Combs Elementary, Apex Middle, Apex High, Appalachian State), the places she has worked and also at Grace Church in Cary.
A gifted musician, Amanda was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. She began piano lessons at age four, and continued until she left for college. She also played the saxophone in her school bands, including the Apex High School Marching Band. She used her giftings to lead worship at Grace Church, competing in talent contests and entertaining her friends in college when she sang with a local band.
Amanda was also an athlete. She played softball for many years on a variety of teams. She also enjoyed playing basketball in the local recreational league. She represented her school at First in Fitness, competing in the mile run against terrific athletes from other local schools. Amanda interned for multiple seasons with the Durham Bulls (Post 50). She was a regular at the ballpark in the spring and summer operating cameras, replays, graphics, and even producing live online telecasts. She also did camera work for Duke University Athletics and USA Baseball.
This past year, Amanda accepted a job working as a library assistant at Ellenboro Elementary. The students loved her as she brought energy and creativity to the school library. The Amanda Lee Nash Fund (http://tiny.cc/bbnquz) has been established for anyone wanting to contribute to purchasing books that her students can take home for the summer and keep for themselves. She wanted all of them to be lifelong readers.
Finally, Amanda just had a knack for knowing how to make us all smile. A beautiful young woman, inside and out, she cared about people, defending the defenseless and lifting up the oppressed. She prayed for people, but also worked to meet their needs. Her impact will carry on much longer than her years. We are all better for having known her.
We can’t wait to see her again!
A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at Grace Church (3725 Kildaire Farm Road – Apex, NC 27518) on Saturday, April 30 at 11 a.m. It will also be live streamed on the Grace Church YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/user/gracechurchcary
