She retired after 37 years of service with the Minneapolis Public School System. She was a union steward for Local Teacher’s Union 59 and traveled the country in support of her belief in the importance of quality education. She donated her time and energy to many causes including the Northside Resident’s Redevelopment Council.
She was an enthusiastic bowler, an avid theater goer and did beautiful needlework. Rosie was a member of the Weston Woods River Belles. She deeply enjoyed spending time with her friends, including Bible Study, TOPS group, and most importantly, family. Every Saturday morning would find her at Courage Center watching as her great-grandchildren learned to swim with a smile on her face and conversation for everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Charles, and Grandson, Jason.
Rosemary is survived by her Children, Karen (Richard) Myers, Bev (Wylt) Chipman, Mike (Tammy) Weitzel, Steve (Geri) Weitzel, Eric Weitzel, Chris (Jean) Weitzel, and Greg (Tina) Weitzel; Fourteen Grandchildren; Eleven Great-grandchildren, with One on the way; Grateful Exchange Students; Brother, Clarence; Sister, Frances; Nieces and Nephews, especially Peggy Skarp; Other Family and Friends.
