Judy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Cletus and Emma. She was the oldest of four children and attended school at St. Agnes Academy, an all girls Catholic school. Judy loved to dance! Her sister Linda has fond memories of her dancing with the refrigerator door handle as her partner.
While working at the Jubilee City discount store to earn money for her senior class trip to New York City, Judy was introduced to William "Bill" Kiley by her mother who also worked at the store. Bill attended Cathedral High, an all boys Catholic school, and worked as a bagger at the store.
Following graduation, Judy attended St. Vincent School of Nursing, while Bill joined the Navy and worked as a mechanic on Naval jets and helicopters. Bill and Judy were married in 1965 and moved to Maryland while Bill completed his time with the Navy.
Bill and Judy returned to Indianapolis and were blessed with two sons, Brian and Jeffrey. In 1975 they moved to Minnesota for Bill's job with Prairie Farmer Insurance. They enjoyed traveling back to Indiana to visit family and friends and spending time at Lake Wawasee. Sadly, Bill passed away in 1985.
After Bill's passing, Judy went to work for the state mental hospital as a registered nurse where she worked for 17 years. Judy loved the water and enjoyed spending time at the North Shore in Duluth Minnesota with her friends and grandchildren. Her faith was very important to her. She belonged to St. Stephen's Catholic church and provided Holy Communion to home bound parishioners. She retired in 2006 and moved to Sun City West, AZ where her father, brother and sister were also living.
Judy will be missed by her sons, Brian (Anne) Kiley and Jeffrey (Jessica) Kiley; grandchildren, Maddie, Jake, Emma, MaChao, Celia, Brianna, Aaron, and Noah; sister, Linda Smith; aunt, Esther Noga; and sister-in-law, Lois Kiley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; brothers, Don and Joe; and brothers-in-law Roger and Bob Kiley.
There will be a private interment at Calvary Cemetery in Anoka, MN, due to the current public health situation.
Memorial donations on Judy's behalf can be sent to: St. Joseph's Indian School, PO Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326 or Maryknoll Missions, PO Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545.
