James Robert Erickson was born March 12, 1967, in Minneapolis. He was a graduate of Minneapolis North High School and Augsburg University. Jim furthered his education with an MBA from Metropolitan State University, Minneapolis.
On June 30, 1990, he was united in marriage to his high-school sweetheart, Patricia "Patty". The couple made their home in Andover, where they raised their two children, Benjamin and Lauren.
Jim was the Information Technology Manager for the City of Fridley for the last 25 years. Jim enjoyed watching sci-fi movies, documentaries and sports, playing video games, and anything Disney. He was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. Most of all, Jim loved watching his children compete in high-school and college sports.
As a child, Jim dreamt of going into space. He closely followed the Space X program and even arranged for his family's name to be sent into space on Artemis I, which is planned to launch on November 16, 2022.
Jim's Legacy will Live on through his beloved wife of 32 years, Patty; son, Ben; daughter, Lauren; sister-in-law, Ann (Blaine) Pletan of Minneapolis; nephew, Chris Comstock; niece, Sara (Tony) Thompson, and their children, T.J. and Hayden, as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in passing by his mother, Fran and stepfather, Tom Meuleners.
Please join us to Celebrate Jim's Life on Wednesday, November 16th from 4 to 7 pm at the Springbrook Nature Center, 100 85th Ave, Fridley, MN. There is no formal service planned, and friends are welcome to come and go as they please.
