Douglas “Doug” Braunschweig was born on November 16, 1978, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Steve Braunschweig and Sandra (Ferstenou) Boklep. He was baptized at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Doug lived in Minneapolis, Champlin, Anoka, and Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Slowly working his way north.
Doug enjoyed his “daily work” at Zenith in Hopkins, he spent many years on a bowling league, he liked fishing, throwing rocks into the Rum River, watching sports of any kind, but especially football, and game shows. Doug’s middle name was simply “M” and was only to reduce the total length of his name for future writing purposes, but his life long affection for M & M’s and Mickey Mouse couldn’t have been just a coincidence. Doug was a gentle soul with a keen sense of humor for anyone with the patience to listen to him long enough. Douglas passed away early morning on September 2, 2018.
Doug was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Edward and Olive Braunschweig; Maternal Grandparents, Melvin and Jeanette Ferstenou.
He will be deeply missed by his Father, Steven; Mother, Sandra (Kay) Boklep; Sister, Brianna Braunschweig; many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins.
