Born in Bala Cynwyd, PA in 1932, Charles Kenneth Tomb was known as Charlie as a youth and went by Ken in his adult years. Ken spent his last 43 years sober all of which he actively participated in and volunteered for the AA and Alanon communities whose support he credited for his sobriety along with the grace of God.
Ken enlisted in the Army during the Korean war and served from 1950-1953, where he studied electronics. His service was state-side as a technician in the atomic weapons program. After discharge, he used his electronics training to find work in technology with RCA, Burroughs, and Control Data.
In 1958, Ken married Marilyn Louise Ball in Waymart, PA, which lasted 61 years until Marilyn’s death in 2019. They lived all across the country from Cape Cod to California, Minneapolis to Mobile, and various points between.
Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Robert; mother, Sadie; father, Robert; and wife, Marilyn. He is survived by 3 adult children, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Ken and Marilyn will be laid to rest, together, in a ceremony at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 10:30am on the 28th of June at Assembly Area #2.
