Graveside services for Mrs. Wyndlon P. Roach, 92, of Anniston, AL, will be Tuesday, November 16th, 2021, 2:00 p.m., at Anniston Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Allen Hudson officiating. The family would like to welcome friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary prior to service time. Mrs. Roach passed away on November 13th, 2021.
She is survived by her son, Robert C. “Bobby” Roach and his wife Susan of Anniston; grandchildren, Robert Jason Roach, Jennifer Lynn Lathers; great-grandchildren, Haydyn Reese Lathers, Hayley Jo Lathers, including 7 nieces and 4 nephews.
Mrs. Roach is preceded in death by her husband Maurice L. Roach; sister, Wanda L. Pierce; parents, Lou Lawerence and Rosa Lucile Perkins; grandparents, Robert Moses and Etta Laura Holmes Garner, Ellis D. and Sarah M. Sparks Perkins.
Those who have the honor of being pallbearers are, Ricky Roach, Randy Roach, Mike Pierce, Joe Lathers, Stan Batey, and Jack Brim.
Wyndlon was born in Ft. McClellan, AL on June 13th 1929, residing in the Jacksonville, Anniston, and Munford area, becoming a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1948, then continued her education by attending nursing training at Anniston Memorial Hospital, which is now known as RMC. She became an RN and went on to work for Dr. James C. Frances, at the Medical Arts Building for 20 years. Later on she started working at Noble Army Hospital where she became a nurse practitioner for the Diabetes, Hypertension, Chemotherapy clinics for the military retirees. Finally she retired after 25 years with the Federal Government. Wyndlon was also a long time member of the Jacksonville Church of Christ. She was loved deeply and will be missed by all those who knew her.
