Thomas M Sowa

Memorial services for Thomas M. Sowa, 66, of Anniston will be Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Parker Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Mack Amis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the parlor. Mr. Sowa passed away September 25, 2016 in Cleburne County.

Survivors include his wife Louise Sowa, his beloved daughter Ellen Rosemary Sowa, his brother Lt. Col. Peter Sowa (Maria Theresa), one niece Eva Sowa El-Katib, three great nieces and a cousin Polly Baird.

Mr. Sowa is preceded in death by his parents Col. Walter Sowa and Eva Long Sowa.

Mr. Sowa was a resident of Calhoun County. He earned a BS in Engineering from Tulane University, a Juris Doctor Degree from Cumberland Law School, and a Master of Law in Taxation from the University of Florida. He worked for Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals as a Staff Attorney. He was Deputy District Attorney in Jefferson County for many years and most recently was Calhoun County Attorney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parker Memorial Baptist Church.
