Tasha Kay Byers

OHATCHEE- Funeral services for Tasha Kay Byers, 17, of Ohatchee will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Chapel Hill funeral Home with the Rev. Benji Turley officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Alexandria.

Ms. Byers died Friday, Oct. 14 in Lincoln.

Survivors include her mother, Pamela Byers of Ohatchee; her father, Dennis Byers of Blue Mountain; stepfathers Daniel B. Meade of Ohatchee and Kevin Morris of Piedmont; finance, Jesse Martin and his daughter, Kelsie, of Ohatchee, sister, Alicia Rae Byers of Ohatchee; half-sisters, Kassie Byers of Alaska and Tiffany and Katie Morris of Piedmont; grandparents, Bruce and Thelma Reiss of Oatchee, Billy and Sharon Graves of Piedmont and Johnny and Carol Deardorff of Riedsville, Ga.; several cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bobby Earwood.

Pallbearers will be Josh Hobbs, Harley Miller, Jesse Martin, Randy Martin, Ricky Whited and Jeff Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ohatchee High School Class of 2006. Ms. Byers was a native of Calhoun County and resident of Ohatchee. She attended Ohatchee High School where she was a cheerleader during her freshman and sophomore years. She played softball for four years. She was employed at the Race City Diner.
