Sarah is survived by her daughter-in-law Dorris Webb; her brother Forney Hughes; her "Buddy" Wayne Roe, her grandchildren Phillip Webb, and Emily Webb and many nieces and nephews.
Sarah was preceded in death by her Husband Edward Lee Webb, Sons Danny Lee Webb and Larry Dale Webb; her parents Clarence & Dannie Hughes; sisters Virginia Love, Mary Findley, and Anna Poole; Brothers Thomas Hughes and William Hughes.
Funeral services for Sarah will be Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Rev. Todd Borders officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery in Alexandria. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers are Dale Findley, Chris Findley, Michael Menchey, Andrew Langston, Jonathan Langston, Brad Gann and honorary pallbearer Ryan Menchey.
Sarah was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a 1947 graduate of Alexandria High School. She retired from the postal service in Weaver, Alabama. Sarah was proud of the fact that she held the title for being the oldest and longest living member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was an avid quilter and in her later years became obsessed with coloring and making small craft items.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Sarah's friend and caregiver Sherre Holland, also Lori and Clint Doyle, and the men and women of Tap Root Recovery for the loving care they have shown "Nana" for the past two years.
