In the early morning hours of May 20, 2023, Sarah JoAnn Reese, or as most of us knew her, Nanny, went to be with the Lord. After a long, fruitful, and joyful life of 91 years living in Anniston AL, she received her eternal reward. As an employee of Blue Mountain Cotton Mill of 40 years she worked very hard and like everything she did, she took pride in her job being done right. Her favorite past time was spending time with family. Whether it was on vacation at the beach or being with them at the river she loved being surrounded by family. She truly had the gift of hospitality and was constantly making sure that everyone was taken care of. When she wasn’t working, she created a home full of warmth and love for her husband, children, grandchildren and friends.
She is proceeded in death by her husband of 50 years James Reese. Her parents, Thomas and Velma Harbin. Her brothers Thomas, Edwin and Glenn Harbin. Her son-in-law James Davis.
She is survived by her daughters Pat Tankersley and Jan Davis. Her son-in-law Glenn Tankersley. Her grandchildren Greg Tankersley, Brad Davis and Tyler Davis. Her great grandchildren Gabby, Josh, Reese and Conner Davis, Silas, Elijah, Sophia and Edyn Tankersley, Xavier Hollis. Several nieces and nephews.
