Patricia Browning Hilley, 86, of Oxford, Alabama passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 27, 2024. Mrs. Pat was born in Anniston, Alabama and lived in Oxford for most of her life. She was a graduate of Oxford High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Oxford.
Mrs. Pat was surely overjoyed as she entered Heaven to first meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then the loves of her life, husband James, and parents Sam and Eva Hilley.
Mrs. Pat was a joy to be around and a friend to everyone and especially to any animal she encountered. She loved life and loved telling stories about her time as a “soda jerk” at Butenshon Drug Store in downtown Oxford, a photography assistant at Mary Robert’s Photography Studio and bookkeeper at Berman Dress Shop in Anniston.
Mrs. Pat will be remembered and honored at a graveside service on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 2:00pm at Oxford Memorial Gardens.
Special appreciation is extended to the entire Enhabit Hospice staff and in particular Nurse Alyson, Social Worker Fran and Bath lady Jennifer. Mrs. Pat’s life was better because of each of you.
