Lee and Louvenia Alexander Lee. He departed this life on September 20, 2023, at the Hospice House in
South Carolina.
Otis attended and graduated from schools in Macon County, Alabama, which included Chambliss
Children’s House and Tuskegee Institute High School. He continued his education by attending Tuskegee
Institute, where he received a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1969. During his college years, he
joined various engineering groups and was also a member of Tuskegee’s ROTC program.
Otis began his professional career in Anderson, Indiana, where he was employed at Guide Lamp as an
engineer. He would later be employed by Sanders Associates in Nashua, New Hampshire, and then by
Digital Equipment Corporation in Pennsylvania. After leaving Digital Equipment Corporation, Otis
started his own business named OPCON Incorporated.
Otis was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church in Tuskegee, Alabama, and later joined First Baptist
Church in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. He had a variety of hobbies, which included cooking, fishing,
dabbling in photography, gardening, and entertaining family and friends. He was an avid gardener,
planting several different vegetables, including very hot peppers. He often used these vegetables to
prepare delicious meals for family and friends. In retirement, Otis continued his interest in cooking by
working as a baker at Busch Gardens. Otis also had an interest in sports and liked to play racquetball and
basketball.
Otis married Peggy Lyles and to this union were born Otis Lee, III, Nsenga, and Cherice. At his transition,
he was married to Natalie Brandy. Otis leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Natalie, and his children,
grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Otis will be Friday, September 29, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
