Mattie Chumley

Mattie is survived by her sons Billy Joe Chumley and David Chumley (Kathy), Daughter-in-law Linda Chumley; grandchildren Crystal Dewey, Donnie Chumley, Danielle Dabbs, Scott Weldon and many great grandchildren, a niece Paula Smith and a Nephew Joe Beard and several others.

Mattie was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Chumley; her son Thomas Chumley; her parents Joe and Oda Beard; her daughter-in-law Debbie Chumley, her grandchild Randy Weldon, and her brother Calvin Beard.

Funeral services for Mattie will be Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Rev. Phillip King officiating. Burial will follow at Lloyds Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be David Chumley, Billy Chumley, Ron Brewer, Ronnie Whiteside, Joe Beard, Donnie Chumley.

Mattie was born in Dekalb County on November 22, 1934. She was married to Gene Chumley for 63 years, she was a wonderful loving person devoted to her family. Mattie was a homemaker and also for 10 years she worked in the family welding business. She enjoyed gardening, yardwork and flowers. She was Baptist by faith and will be greatly missed.
