Funeral service for Mary Jo Glass, 88, of Birmingham formally of Anniston, will be 2:00 pm, September 28, 2012 at Parker Memorial Baptist with Dr. Billy Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm till service time at the church. Mrs. Glass died Tuesday evening at St. Martin’s in the Pines.
Survivors include her daughter, Denise Glass Fant (Jerry); sons, Daryl Glass and Donald Glass; son-in-law, Eddie Massey; granddaughters, Jennifer Massey Attaway (Matthew), Kristen Glass and Ashley Glass; great-grandchildren, Jackson Michael Attaway, Charla Grace Attaway, Makayla Glass and Makinley Glass; sisters, Margie Williams, Gail Allen, Frances Allen, Sue Wiggins (Bob); brothers, Roy Allen (Shirley), and Ed Allen (Betty) and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Glass is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Nelson Glass; and daughter, Diane Glass Massey; parents, Hiram and Ida Rich Allen; sisters, Lee Hill, and Marguerite Causey, Mary Owens; and brother, John Allen.
Mrs. Glass was a native of Etowah County and a resident of Anniston from 1957 until she moved to Birmingham in 2000. She was a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church. She was a former member of the Anniston Country Club and volunteered with the Knox Concert Series for many years. The family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at St. Martin’s in the Pines for their loving care.
