Anniston - Funeral service for Mr. Marvin H. Cobb, 83, of Anniston, will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Gray Brown-Service with Dr. Randy Postell and Dr. Clint Vaughn officiating. Entombment will follow at Forestlawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Cobb died Wednesday evening, March 14, 2012. Mr. Cobb is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Jo Cobb; daughter, Debbie Vaughn (Dennis), of Weaver; two grandsons, Adam Vaughn and Clint Vaughn (April), of Weaver; one great- granddaughter, Emma Vaughn; sister, Helen Holley, of Jacksonville; and nephew, Bobby Holley. Mr. Cobb is preceded in death by his parents, R.L. and Audry; stepmother, Lillie; and a sister, Sara. Mr. Cobb retired from Alabama Gas (Alagaco) after 43 years of dedicated service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Saks since 1953. Pallbearers will be Randy Cobb, Elbert Finley, Bobby Holley, Adam Vaughn, Lelton Bell, and Q.L. Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Barace Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Saks and the retirees of Alabama Gas (Alagaco). Special thanks to Betty Nelson, Paula Mcqurter, and Amedisys Hospice Services of Rainbow City who cared for him during his extended illness.
