“Marti” was born December 13, 1931 in Louisville, KY to Rev. Joseph Leo Hall and Ruth Brown Nuttall Hall. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Rev. Otis F. (Pokey) Warren. Siblings included Rev. John R. Hall and Rev. James P. Hall (deceased). Her children: Daughter, Jan Warren Day (Ellijay, GA) and her children, Carl Day (Heather) of Ellijay, GA; Rachel Johnson (Brandon) of Charlotte, NC; Daughter, Connie Warren Baker (Bill) of Anniston and her children: Jenni (Chris, deceased) Jennings of Talladega, Jon Baker (Ellen) of Winnemucca, NV, Ethan Baker (deceased); Daughter, Elizabeth Fain Warren Geist of Phenix City, A and her children: Clay Weathers of Colorado Springs, CO; Daniel Weathers (Heidi) of Phenix City, AL; and Ellen Weathers (Sebastian) of Chiloe Island Ancud, Chile; and Daughter, Christie Warren Jones (Preston) of Jacksonville and her daughter Sarah Burrage (Zach) of Southside, AL. Marti was a great-grandmother to sixteen and “Mother” to countless others, especially, Jan Brown Ridgeway Cooper (deceased).
Marti was actively involved in Anniston and Calhoun County as a probation officer, teacher and guidance counselor for over 50 years. Until her retirement, she was organist and choral director at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lenlock. She also was a founding member of the Steel Magnolias Breast Cancer Support Group and worked in their “Pinks Boutique”. Her commitment to United Cerebral Palsy in Calhoun County was also a vital part of her life.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the men and women from Amedisys Hospice who loved and cared for Marti during her final days.
A celebration of life service will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make memorial gifts to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 75 Lenlock Lane, Anniston 36206.
