Anniston – Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Lorena Glass Lee, 96, of Anniston will be Friday, October 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Saks with Rev. Cecil Sewell, and Rev. John Copeland officiating with burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday night from 6-8 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lee passed away on Wednesday, October 05, 2016 in Weaver.
Mrs. Lee is survived by her daughters, Paula Lee Stenmoe, and Debbie Lee Barno; grandchildren, Tara Stenmoe Brooks, and Tyler Stenmoe; great-granddaughter, Kaelyn Annalee Brooks; nieces and nephews, Carolyn Glass Hill, Patricia Jones, Larry Glass, and Farris Crow Jr.
Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Kyle Lee; parents, Sarah Elizabeth Yarborough and George M. Glass; sisters, Annie Glass, Pearl Glass Turley, Katherine Glass, Frances Glass, and Margaret Glass Crow; brothers, Harvey Glass, Robert Glass, George Glass, Edward Glass, and Olin Glass.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Stenmoe, Keith Barno, Charles Stenmoe, Lynn Martin, Chad Crabtree, and Dean Harrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Hays, Jerry Dyar, Terry McNeal, George Haynes, and Steve Lee.
Mrs. Lee was a graduate of Alexandria High School, and a graduate Anniston Business College. She was a member of Alabenton, and Daughters of the Confederacy, she was a member First Baptist Church of Saks for over 50 years where she taught the Lydia Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the WMU and Golden Jewels. She retired with 34 years of Civil Service with the Federal Government. She loved genealogy research; she was an avid Alabama fan where she traveled extensively to all parts of the world. She was a wonderful gardener and loved her flowers. She loved playing the piano, reading, and painting. She loved her great-granddaughter, Kaelyn, and their special times together.
Flowers will be received or donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Saks Building Fund.
