Funeral service for Larry E. Willingham, 72, of Oxford, will be Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 at Indian Oaks Christian Church with Minister Scott Blake officiating. Burial will follow at Edgemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11-1pm Wednesday at the church. Mr. Willingham passed away Friday at RMC.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Judy Willingham; sons Eddie Willingham (Robin) and Anthony Willingham (Doris); grandchildren Meagan and Morgan Willingham, Tonya Middlebrook (Mark);great-grandchildren Chelsey Sanders and Kaitlyn Reese; great-great grandchildren Kaden Sanders and Kennadie Sanders; sister Nellie Haynes; brothers Robert H., Bryant, Cecil, and David Willingham; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends Dan and Rose Cooley.
Mr. Willingham is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Thomas and Pearl Hilton Willingham; sisters Glennis Willingham Ezell, Essie Willingham Gamel, and I.V. Willingham Roberts; infant sisters Lessie and Bessie Willingham; brothers Arthur, Fred, Louis, Herschel, and Donald Willingham; and great-great granddaughter, Tiara Reese.
Pallbearers will be friends and family. Honorary pallbearers will be the Retirees of Solutia Corp.
Mr. Willingham was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a graduate of Alexandria High School, where he ran track, played football and played basketball. He served as a minister for 40 years which included various churches in the Calhoun County area and 30+ years ministering to Golden Living Oxford, Cleburne County Nursing Facility, and Autumn Cove Assisted Living. He loved fishing, sports, and Alabama football. (RTR) He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and friend. He loved the Lord and lived his life for Him. He will be greatly missed.
