Funeral services for Kenneth Ray Murphy, 66, of Anniston will be held Friday, January 18, 2019 at 11:00 am at Parker Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Mack Amis and Rev. Daniel Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Whites Gap Baptist Church Cemetery with formal honors. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Parker Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Murphy passed away January 15, 2019 in Anniston.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Judy E. Murphy; one daughter, Kristi Murphy Wood; two sons, Bryan Audie Murphy (Erin) and Christopher Dale Murphy; one brother, Jerrie Murphy (Teresa); five grandchildren, Dylan Murphy, Dailyn Wood, Adalyn Wood, Payton Lindsey, Ryleigh Lindsey and several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents John Harvey and Caffey Elizabeth Murphy; three brothers, John, Harold, and Dewayne Murphy and one sister, JoAnn Turgeon.
Pallbearers will be members of the Anniston Police Department Honor Guard.
Kenneth was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and an avid Alabama Fan. He graduated from Saks High School in 1970 and was a member of Saks Baptist Church. He later retired from Anniston Police Department after 29 years of service and worked as Security for Parker Memorial Baptist Church for 26 years. Kenneth will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
