Joyce Connell Cockrell

Weaver - Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Elna Cockrell, 85, of Weaver will be Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Connell, officiating with burial following at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cockrell passed away May 28, 2012 at NHC in Anniston.

Mrs. Cockrell is survived by her daughter, Wanda Fehl and husband Dale of Dacula, GA.; sons, Jerry Cockrell and wife Linda of McGaheysville, Va., Dennis Cockrell of Andalusia, Al., Jeff Cockrell and wife Cary of Oxford, Al.; sisters, Zelma Thompson of Heflin Al., Fredda Owen of Heflin, Al., Ruth Abney of Bowden, Ga., Nellie Burch of Weaver Al., Adline Hulsey of Fruithurst, Al., and Ruby Skinner of Fruithurst, Al.; grandchildren, Alysia Davis and husband Michael, Kristopher Brown, Nicholas Brown, Taylor Fehl, Matt Cockrell and wife Heidi, Erika Barnes and husband Brandon, Cooper Smith and Noah Cockrell; great grandchildren, Emme Davis, Coleman Brown, Kate Cockrell, Emma Cockrell and Mya Barnes; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons.

Mrs. Cockrell was a native of Cleburne Co. and a resident of Weaver, Al. for 30 years where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weaver.

Mrs. Cockrell is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John Gross Cockrell; parents Noah and Annie Connell; sisters, Mary Fleming, Pauline Jennings; brothers, Roy and Rufus Connell; granddaughter-in-law, Jessica Brown.
