Funeral Service for John H. Carter, 80, of Wellington will be held at 2pm on Sunday, March 1st, 2020 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Pastor Marty Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Eastaboga Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm at the funeral home. Mr. Carter passed away Sunday in Anniston.
Mr. Carter is survived by his daughters, Mary Beth Hicks, Nancy Regina Burgess, Misty Flanary, and Leanda Chaffin (Timothy); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Watson Carter Sr. and Dora Inez Jordan; four sisters and one brother.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mr.Carter was a devout Christian who loved spending time with his family. He had the biggest heart and loved to talk about God, football, and the news to anyone who would listen. He was an avid chess player and was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
