John "Bub" D. Burgess

John D Burgess “Bub”, 78, of Alexandria went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2020. He was a Loving Father, and Husband. He loved to work around the house and ride his tractor and mowers. He open and ran 144 Pawn Shop for over 25 years. People enjoyed talking with him as he would encourage them and help them where he could.

He loved his wife of 57 years, who went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2019.

Dad we love you and thank you for all you did along the way for us. We know you are with Mom now and you both are healthy and happy with God in heaven. We love you and will see you both again when the Lord calls us home.

Bub leaves behind two sons, John Stacey (Kendale) Burgess of Ohatchee, and Bradley Scott (Sandra) Burgess of Alexandria; seven grandchildren, Trent (Erin) Burgess of Daphne, Katie Burgess of Alexandria, Nicole (Matt) Hicks of Ragland, Nakescha Butenschon of Boco Raton, Reagan Burgess of Tennessee, Kenley (Josh) Gardner of Alexandria, and Kameron Russell of Pensacola; three great-grandchildren, Easton Burgess, Wyatt Burgess, and Mia Butenschon; brothers, James Kyle Burgess of Wellington, Eugene Burgess of Centre, and Jerry Burgess of Saks.

Bub was preceded in death by his loving wife Virginia Katherine Burgess; mother, Vera Maude Burgess; father, E.E. Burgess.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Robertson, Horace McMichael, Trent Burgess, Matt Hicks, Richard Smith, Buck Brown, Charile Polard, and Keith Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Hammonds, Wendall Reid, and Leigh Hemphill.

The family would especially like to thank April Fulmer, Richard Smith and Tamra McIntosh and Staff for we could not have made it through without your support DAD loved you All.
