Mr. Ledbetter was born, December 10, 1963, in Anniston, Alabama. He was the son of the late Edward Ledbetter and Myrtle Lorene Boggs Ledbetter.
Joel was known for being a huge Alabama football fan. He worked for Anniston Army for almost thirty years. He loved fishing and his family. He was a dedicated member of the Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church. Joel was lovingly referred to as “Papa Joel” by his grandchildren, who were very dear to him. Above all, Joel leaves a legacy of love and wanting others to know Jesus.
Mr. Ledbetter was preceded in death by his loving parents.
He is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-five years, Mrs. Shirley Ledbetter; children, Beth Hines, and Becky Stafford; grandchildren, Mackinzie Hines, Zander Hines, and Kayson Hines; and siblings, Ronnie
Ledbetter (Linda), David Ledbetter (Markeitia), Debbie Minton (Steve), Charlene Knight (Mike). Additionally, he is survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be an Celebration of Life at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday Oct 24, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. Come by and see family and friends and share your fond memories of Joel with the family.
