Jan Henderson

Funeral service for Mrs. Jan Henderson, 56, of Anniston, will be 11:00 am, Monday, February 20, 2012, at Gray Brown-Service with Dr. Roy Cordle officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Henderson died Friday afternoon at Noland Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Gary “Rabbit” Henderson; daughters, Carey Machristie (Sean); and Jennifer Shaddix (Tracy); granddaughters, Kinleigh Shaddix, and Carsean Machristie; mother, Joyce Hess; sisters, Cheryl Slick (Donny), and Deb Armbrester (Tommy); nieces and nephews, Chris Slick, Kim Harbin (Lane), Wes Armbrester, and Jason Armbrester (Valerie) and great-niece, Addison Harbin.

Mrs. Henderson is preceded in death by her father, Jr. Greene; step-father, Ward Hess; grandmothers, Ruby Royster and Maudie Greene; grandfathers, Charlie Royster, and Jim Rogers.

Pallbearers will be, Chris Slick, Wes Armbrester, Jason Armbrester, Lane Harbin, Sean Machristie; and Tracy Shaddix.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Bobby Pitts, Jim Atkinson, Donny Slick, Tommy Armbrester, and Eli Henderson.

Jan was a longtime resident of Anniston and retired from Southtrust Bank. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church. Jan was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and Nana--her granddaughters were her world. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Noland Hospital, Rev. Scott Smith, and Dr. Roy Cordle.
