Funeral service for James "Benny" Hulsey, 62, will be 2 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Friendship Baptist Church, 1153 Nisbet Lake Rd. Jacksonville with Pastor Jack Morgan and Pastor Harold Laster officiating. Burial will follow at Jacksonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 - 8 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Mr. Hulsey passed away Tuesday morning at his residence. Mr. Hulsey is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sheila Hulsey; one son, James Craig Hulsey, of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Autumn Hulsey and her boyfriend, Ryan Kelow, both of Jacksonville, James Austin Hulsey, of Jacksonville and Mason S. Hulsey; one great-granddaughter, Hadleigh Shaye Kelow and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Evelyn Hulsey; brothers, Tommy, Steve and Homer Hulsey and Wayne McCurry and sister, Beverly Campbell. Pallbearers will be Brent Craig, Bryan Craig, Austin Parris, Stephen Greenwood and Bubba Green. Honorary Pallbearer will be David Roper. Mr. Hulsey was an avid Alabama Football fan "Roll Tide" and loved to fish. He was a paramedic and the Director and member of Anniston Emergency and Rescue Squad for 30 years and was the Calhoun County Coroner for 12 years. He was the unopposed mayor of Pleasant Valley.
