Mr. James P. Bolling, 87, of Macon, Georgia, met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face on Thursday, July 27, 2023. He was the loving husband of Fredrika (Yeager) Bolling, to whom he was married for 63 years.
James was born on July 14, 1936, in Blue Mountain, Alabama, to the late Lacy and Cassie (Pruett) Bolling. He graduated from Anniston High School, and completed a bachelor's degree in mathematics and chemistry at Jacksonville State University, Jacksonville, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He later moved to Macon, Georgia where he and his wife raised their family. He worked at Warner Robins Air Force Base as a logistics contracting specialist, and retired in 2001 with 41 years of service.
He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting, and backyard grilling. He loved bluegrass, old country, and mountain music. But he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed gardening and was known for his tomatoes. He loved old cars and trucks and was great at repairing almost anything. He was very generous with his time in helping neighbors and friends with their vehicles and boats.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Bolling is survived by three sons, Barry Bolling, Andrew Bolling, and Matthew Bolling; three daughters, Elaine Bolling, Nancy Bolling, and Vanessa Bolling; two grandchildren; and numerous extended relatives. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lacy D. Bolling and Charles Thurston Bolling.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., on Sunday, August 6, 2023 in the Chapel at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary, 1329 Wilmer Ave., Anniston, Alabama. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Chapel.
