Anniston – Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Ruth Copeland, 79, of Anniston will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Bonds officiating with burial to follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Copeland passed on Thursday, March 2, 2017 Grandview in Birmingham.
Mrs. Copeland is survived by her husband, James Copeland; daughters, Kathy Copeland Markberry, Charlene Copeland Hill, and Karen Copeland Gallahar; double first nieces, Connie Copeland Stevens, and Carla Copeland Cunningham;
Brothers, Charles Starnes, and Paul Starnes; grandchildren, Kasey Bittle, Clinton Gallahar, Weston Hill, and Grant Hill; great-grandchildren, Mason Bittle, Ansleigh Bittle, Ruthie James Bittle, Blakelee Gallahar, and Connor Gallahar; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Copeland was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Starnes; mother, Inez Starnes; sister, Juanita Copeland; brother, Roy Starnes.
Pallbearers will be Larry Marksberry, Rodney Hill, Wallace Gallahar, Weston Hill, Clinton Gallahar, Grant Hill, and Anthony Bittle.
Mrs. Copeland was a loving wife, mother, granny, aunt, and friend to so many. She was happily married to James for 58 years. She was a nurse and had a gift for serving and caring for others. She loved to cook and knit and visit. She will be remembered for her wisdom, beautiful smile, servants’ heart, and continued expressions of love for her family and friends.
