Mr. George Walker (80) of Anniston, Alabama passed away peacefully at home on September 12th, 2022. Funeral services will be held at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Daniel Harper officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
Burial to follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his parents, George (Sam) and Myrtis Lee Walker. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy Hill Walker; son, Doug Walker (Sherry); daughter, Cherie Walker Prickett (Mark); four grandchildren, Macon Prickett, Mason Prickett (Lauren), McClaine Prickett, Bethany Elaine Smith (Sam); two great-grandsons, Montgomery Prickett and Fletcher Prickett; along with his brother, Charlie Walker (Connie), his special brother and sister in law, Donald and Anita Hamm, and many nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of White Plains High School, served his country in the United States Air Force, and retired from Ft. McClellan in 1999. George was a loving husband, daddy, and Pawpaw. He loved the outdoors and camping at Coleman Lake. He was a faithful member of Saks Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to Saks Baptist Church building fund.
