Ruth Snow was born and raised in Gadsden, Alabama before moving to Anniston in 1963. Later moving to Oxford where she became a resident of Oxford House. She was proud that while there she began a "Rook club" with several of her resident friends, playing Rook as often as possible. She was a devout Christian and a longtime member of Leatherwood Baptist Church before becoming a member of Oxford 1st Baptist Church. She was very involved in church activities at Oxford 1st Baptist including the "Hope Sunday School Class", "Gladys Phillips WMU", "Live Longer and Like It Senior Adult" group, "Soup for the Soul" and Bible Study. When health issues began preventing her from attending church, she became a devout follower on many Sunday morning worship services on TV which she never missed. She enjoyed Alabama football (and thank goodness they're not playing today), reading, word search puzzles and her daily phone conversations with her sister Carolyn. She was also proud that she was the mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother to 5 generations.
