Funeral services for Edna Lou Gosdin Walker, 72, of Anniston will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Rev. Hollis Martin, Rev. Danny McGinnis and Rev. Herb Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. A family visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 pm and will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm at the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Bond (Chris); Michael Walker (Joanna); grandchildren, Angel Walker and Brian Walker and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Walker is preceded in death by her husband, John A. Walker; mother, Susie Prestridge Gosdin Yawn; father, Willie G. Gosdin; infant brother, Bobby Wayne Gosdin; sister, Betty Faye Gosdin Johnson; brother-in-law, Leroy Johnson.
Pallbearers will be George Walker, Doug Walker, Errol Houser, Brian Walker, Kenny Norris and Harley Burgess.
Mrs. Walker was born in Randolph County and later moved to Calhoun County where she resided most of her adult life. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1963. After graduation she was employed at Blue Mountain Industries and retired as a school bus driver with the Calhoun County Board of Education. She attended Bonny Brook Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations made to the American Cancer Society or Bonny Brook Baptist Church. Edna enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music, singing in the choir, baking desserts for friends and family, travelling, taking cruises, and drinking several pots of coffee daily.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
