Eddie Frank Mayfield, age 72, of Anniston, Alabama passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023. He was a member of Eulaton United Methodist Church, and was a volunteer as a member of the Civil Defense. He met his wife in his younger years and married her on her 18th birthday. That day began a journey together for a total of 53 years. He had a love for his family like no other and a love for Alabama Football. He enjoyed spending his spare time hunting and fishing.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Sharon Mayfield; his daughter Allison Loos (Steve); his brother Bill Mayfield (Janice); his grandchildren Brett Gilbert (Aleshia), Kendall Key, Madelynn Loos, Caden Loos, and Lauren Loos, his great grandchildren Ayden Gilbert, Bradley Gilbert and Charles Bullock and several nieces and nephews.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Myrtice Mayfield; his sister Rita Kay Mayfield and his brother Allen Mayfield.
A visitation for Eddie will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Eulaton United Methodist Church, 401 Westover Rd., Anniston, Alabama 36201, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with Rev. Virgil Bohn and Rev. Carol Lambert officiating.
Eddie will be laid to rest in Eulaton United Methodist Church, 401 Westover Rd., Anniston, Alabama 36201.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Eddie's memory may be made to Eulaton United Methodist Church.
Eddie was loved dearly by all who knew him. Although he will be greatly missed, his memories will be treasured forever.
