Doris Roach Young

YOUNG-Funeral service for Mrs. Doris R. Young, age 82, of Saks will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Truman O’Dell, Chaplain Jon Guthery and Rev. Sandy Felkins officiating. Interment will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6 – 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home

Mrs. Young passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at NEARMC.

Mrs. Young is survived by her daughters, Linda Whitten and husband Mike of Alexandria, Pat Lackey and husband Calvin Sr. of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Allison Whitten, Charlsie Lackey; brother, Delmer Roach and wife Evelyn of Talladega; sister-in-law, Wendy Roach of Saks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Roach, Randy Roach, Kurt Roach, Charles White, Bobby Roach and Bill Sams.

Mrs. Young was a born in Akron, Ohio and raised in Calhoun County. She was formally employed as the first secretary at Alexandria High School and Lunch Room Manager at Saks High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Saks. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. C. Young; parents, Charles and Gertrude Roach; brothers, Maurice Roach and Charles Richard "Dickie" Roach.
