Doris Smith

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Smith, 61, of Ohatchee, will be Thursday, July 9th, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Bro. Edward Hendon and Yank Hendon officiating. Burial will follow at Coldwater Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday night from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

She is survived by her sons, Shane Pilkington (Rachel) and David Pilkington; daughter, Amanda Smith; sisters, Betty Hendon and Barbara Moncus (Jimmy); brothers, Edward Hendon (Cindy) and James “Yank” Hendon (Margaret); grandchildren, Emily Pilkington, Dawson and Austin Wilkinson, including numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband James William Smith; her parents, Henry and Frances Hendon; sister, Dorothy Lightsey; brother, Frank Hendon.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Doris was known for her very giving nature and the biggest heart she had. She never met a stranger and would enjoy talking for hours to anyone. She was the biggest fan of her granddaughter Emily. She is loved dearly and will be missed by many.
