Funeral service for Donald M. Dover, 68, of Ohatchee, will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Oak Bowery Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Brown and Rev. David Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 pm at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary. Mr. Dover died Tuesday at his residence.
Survivors include: wife, Eyvonne Dover; daughters, Pamela Woodall and husband Bubba and Wendy Kitchens and husband Jason; son, DeWayne Dover and wife Pam; grandchildren, Zac Woodall, Garrett Kitchens, Kade Kitchens, and Aaron Woodall; mother, Elizabeth Dover; sisters, Martha Mitchell, Marion McCombs, and Robin Cargal; brother, Ron Dover; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dover is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Dover.
Pallbearers will be Travis Reaves, Stanley Baswell, William Dulaney, Johnny Blackmon, Ronald Dickie, and Joe Foster.
Mr. Dover was a lifelong resident of Ohatchee and member of Oak Bowery Baptist Church having service many different roles with the church. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 27 years of service. Mr. Dover and his wife loved fishing, camping and car shows. He enjoyed watching his grandsons wrestling matches and playing football.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Bowery Baptist Church on Hwy 144 in Ohatchee.
