Catherine Hurst Johnson

Alexandria – Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Hurst Johnson, 88, of Alexandria will be Friday, August 5, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Nabors officiating with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Johnson passed peacefully on Tuesday August 2, 2016 at RMC in Anniston.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her sons, Dennis (Cindy) Johnson, and Jerre (Marilyn) Johnson; brother, Samuel (Vivian) Hurst; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Johnson; and brother, Davis Hurst.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Co-Ed 9- Herman Helms Class.

Mrs. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, she was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and she was a Sunday school teacher for 37 years in the Beginners Class.
