Calvin Ray Estes

Funeral service for Calvin Ray Estes, 78 of Uniontown, Al will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Estes passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 at his sisters’ home in Alexandria.

Survivors include his wife, Penny Estes of Uniontown; children, Dalton Estes of Memphis, Terry (Darlene) Estes of Saks, and Pamela Paschal of Alexandria; step-children, Bobby Vanemmenis of South Africa and Stephanie Vanemmenis of Hawaii; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris (Harry) Bonds, Kathy McNeely, Sylvia (Art) Hilliker, Karon (David) Lambert; step-sister, Bobbie Ridley; brothers, Gerald (Elaine) Estes, Ronnie (Susan) Estes; step-brother, Roger Garner; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Estes is preceded in death by his father, Dalton Estes; mother, Willie Estes Garner; step-father, Elvyn Garner; grandchild, Amanda Estes and great-grandchild, Joey Scott.

Pallbearers will be Art Hilliker, Jesse Lambert, Mike Smith, Timothy Erwin, Carel Turner and Ronnie Estes.

Mr. Estes proudly served in the US Navy for 22 years and two tours in Vietnam.
